How To Take Care of Your Weave Hair Extensions While Taking Care of Your Own Hair Too

Updated: Jan 18, 2024

Here are

Some Simple Rules

to 'The Game' in

Caring for Your Hair

We recommend having

a professional stylist

care for

your hair extensions

whenever possible.

Our human hair extensions actually need more care than some imagine.

We spend
A LOT
of money on hair people!

We should spend

as much

making sure our

natural hair stays healthy.

How much
are we paying
for that hair
AND
original install?

The Barbie Dream don't come cheap!

Why aren't we making sure we take care of the hair?

So, we have done some research

and created 2 simple tips

on caring for ALL of your hair

while wearing a weave. 😉

Tip #1

Don't Drench Your

Weave Hair

In Oil & Products

O.K.

So EVERYONE

swears that there product

is the best.

Got it!

But,

no matter how good

the products are

~ you DO NOT NEED TO USE IT ALL OF THEM! 🤷🏽‍♀️💯😉

Choose your favorites,

or the ones that work well for you,

and use them moderately.

Using too many products

on your weave hair

can cause the strands to become heavy,

leaving dirt

and grease build up.🤢

Our hair can mold if not taken care of properly.😔

A small amount

of product

used as needed

to maintain style

should be enough.

***About a quarter size

amount of any product

should be more than enough

for any quarter section of your weaved style.

Tip #2

Give it A Break!

Sometimes

you gotta switch it up!

Wear your own hair

for a few weeks

and give your scalp some time to breathe.

This puts less stress on your hair

and gives you an opportunity to wash and condition your weave extensions.

Most importantly,

you'll get to enjoy the growth results from properly

taking care of your weave!

Spare Tip #3

See A Professional

We'd all like to think
that we know
how to take care
of our hair properly;
but the truth is,
that isn't true.

Weaves offer a huge convenience

of being able to wear

what is sometimes considered

'more manageable' hair

~ but the truth is wearing a weave

can be a a lot of work

and all of that hair needs

to be cared for.

The choice is yours.

Would you
rather have damaged
or healthy hair?

Yes,

we all love the convenience

of a weave.

We can manage it

(well some of us)

on or own,

but it is always good

to have a professional

do the job correctly.

Spend the $150

or so

for a wash

and style

because in the end,

when you look good

you feel better.

We all love

a healthy head of hair

whether it’s attached to a weft

or our own scalp.
